PCL is a freely available implementation of a large subset of CLOS, the Common Lisp Object System, done at Xerox Corporation. Development of PCL by Xerox ended early in 1990. Since then, several people have done additional development of PCL. PCL-GCL is based on the PCL in CMUCL 17f. It was developed by the late Bill Schelter at the University of Texas.
